Wear your boots and carry some water/snack if you like and take a hike at Watoga State Park. It is National Take a Hike Day, an annual event recognized every November 17 across the country.

Meet Naturalist Kayla Bowyer at 4:30 p.m. at Cabin 21, at the Pine Run Cabin area. This area is just across from the picnic shelter. The hike/activity will return by 6:00 p.m.

The T.M. Cheek Overlook Trail is a ½ mile one way, and the total hike is one mile It is a relatively easy hike to get up to the overlook from the starting point. Allow approximately an hour and a half which includes the short hike and plenty of time for everyone enjoy the sunset and view.

Participants completing the hike receive a 2021 Trails Day patch. Take a hike on November 17 at Watoga State Park.
