National Honey Bee Day
At Beech Fork State Park, National Honey Bee Day starts with a bee craft for kids (and adults!) at 5:30 p.m.
Join the park naturalist at 6:30 p.m. for a short walk to see and learn about Beech Fork’s pollinator field and bee hives. Our hives are in an out-of-the-way area, but on the walking route for this special day. If you attend the “bee walk,” your name will be entered in a drawing to win a free jar of West Virginia honey. Activities are open to the public without charge.
It’s a “bee-autiful” day to get outside and learn about WV’s state insect, the Honeybee (Apis mellifer) on its National Day of Celebration.
