10:30 a.m. Fishing 101
Meet at the Nature Center, then head out to the lake! Learn how to tie a fishing hook, then cast out! Fishing poles & worms provided (limited amount) or bring your own. (1 hour) YPP
1:30 p.m. Stream Study
Discover what makes a stream healthy and what unlikely critters may be hiding in plain sight! Meet at Nature Center. You may want to bring shoes to get wet. (1 hour) YPP
4:00 p.m. Meet and Greet Cacapon
Meet the Park Naturalist at the lodge to answer any general park questions you may have or find out what amazing recreation and nature activities Cacapon has to offer. Welcome to Cacapon Resort State Park! (1.5 hours)
7:30 p.m. Cacapon Campfire
What a great way to spend your evening in the park! Meet at the campfire circle beside the Nature Center for a marshmallow roastin’ good time by the fire. You bring the marshmallows, and we’ll provide the sticks. Followed by a glow stick night hike.

11:00 a.m. Cicada Mania
The 17-year cicadas are returning! Learn some fun facts & watch a short film!
2:00 p.m. Cacapon Tie-Dye
Join us at the Nature Center for a fun afternoon of tie-dying! Make this a State Park tradition & take home your own park tie-dye T-shirt! ***State Park T-shirts sold at the Nature Center. $10.00 will cover T-shirt & dye.
7:30 p.m. Cicada Campfire/ Cicada Search Night Hike
It’s all about the 17-year cicadas! Campfire fun with cicadas on the menu! Followed by a night hike in search of these emerging insects.

Learn to identify several native trees followed by a leaf pounding craft.
1:00 p.m. Park Orientation & History
Join the park naturalist at Berkeley Springs State Park in the picnic area near the warm springs. Drop by any time from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. to look at pictures of park through the years.
7:00 p.m. Evening Hike
Meet park volunteer and Potomac Valley Master Naturalist at the lodge for a walk & talk about the park history and what’s new!

Take a close look at a variety of native wildlife pelts – black bear, coyote, fox!
Young People for Parks
YPP is an environmental education program. for children ages 6-16. To complete the program, participants attend three specified activities during their stay. These programs are indicated on the weekly program by the YPP logo. Participants will also complete the information on a special YPP brochure. After turning it into the park’s naturalist, each participant will receive a state park incentive for participating in three specified programs. All ages are welcome!
