For two nights only!!! October 7 and October 8, 2022, as you board the Island Belle sternwheeler at Civitan Park in Belpre, Ohio, you will begin your journey to Blennerhassett Island where an enchanted world only known to Harman and Margaret Blennerhassett existed over 200 years ago. Mansion by Candlelight returns to the island in 2022.

Many friends of the Blennerhassetts have gathered on the island for a wonderful evening of
entertainment and you will also be a guest at the home of Harman and Margaret Blennerhassett. Transformed into an 18th-century party, Blennerhassett Island and its magnificent mansion are illuminated by hundreds of candles and lantern boxes.

Docents, dressed in the style of the period, will welcome you. The soft glow of candlelight will weave a mesmerizing spell ‘round about you as you listen to the music, see 18th-century dances, or watch a lively game of cards, before strolling outside to enjoy the many planned activities on the island.

While on the island, plan to take a horse-drawn wagon ride, visit the gift shop, and warm yourself by an inviting bonfire at the servants’ party where another spirited party is going on. At the servants’ party you will hear Appalachian music, see clogging, watch apple butter being made, and hear haunting stories of local folklore. All the evening’s excitement will likely make you hungry.

A special candlelight “harvest supper” (picnic style meal) consisting of apple and rosemary roasted turkey, sage and celery dressing, mashed potatoes with roasted turkey gravy, salad, fresh snap beans with shallots, and dessert offerings of black walnut tarts, pumpkin tarts and Margaret’s Orchard fruitcake with choice of coffee, tea or water. Special children’s menu available. The Harvest Supper will be offered on both evenings with advance reservations. Harman’s Landing, the island concession stand, will also be open and offer limited items.

Ticket prices are $35 adults, $25 children ages 3-12. Ticket includes round-trip sternwheeler ride, horse-drawn wagon ride, and Mansion by Candlelight festivities. Harvest Supper cost is additional at $20 adult and $10 for children. Reservations for the Harvest Supper are necessary by October 4, 2022. Payment may be made by cash, major credit card, check or money order.

Boat departure times to the island are 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30 and 8:00 p.m.
Departures are from Civitan Park in Belpre Ohio.
Harvest Supper times are 6:15, 6:45, 7:15, 7:45 and 8:15
The boat return times from the island are 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, 10:00 and 10:30 p.m.
Mansion by Candlelight is a rain or shine event.
