Mack Samples – Blennerhassett Lecture Series 1
Mack Samples is the first of four individuals featured in the Blennerhassett Museum 2019 Winter Lecture Series, Sundays in February beginning at 2:00 p.m. A popular event, reservations are required.
Mack Samples is a well-known folklorist, musician and square dance caller and the 2003 Vandalia Award winner. The author of four books set in West Virginia, he has written several published articles on a variety of subjects related to the traditional folk arts.
Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History in Parkersburg, West Virginia, is excited to bring four top Award winners of the Vandalia Gathering Festival to tell their stories and play traditional Appalachian music. The Vandalia Gathering is a festival that takes place during Memorial Day Weekend in Charleston, WV, and brings together the finest traditional Appalachian musicians for a weekend of picking and competition.
