Lost River Nature Activities

Enjoy nature-based programs at Lost River State Park and be surrounded by awe.

Friday July 16, 2021

8:00 a.m. HIKE TO CRANNY CROW
Meet Tara at the horse stables and hike with her as she shares the mysteries and histories that she has discovered in the ten years she has called Lost River State Park home. This is a longer distance hike. Bring water and enjoy the hike up and back. You’ll earn moments in time on this uplifting hike.

Saturday July 17, 2021

NATURE CENTER is open from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
THE LEE HOUSE is open from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

10:00 a.m. CRITTER CRAWL
Meet at Nature Center and head to the creek to explore the aquatic life of the park. We’ll be getting wet for this one. Wear shoes that can get wet. Learn about what lives in the creek.

8:00 p.m. FIRESIDE STORIES and S’MORES
Meet at the fire pit across the road from the Recreation Hall to hear some local ghost stories and legends while enjoying a sweet treat.

NATURE CENTER is open from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
THE LEE HOUSE is open from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

GARDEN TOUR
Meet Tara at the Assistant Superintendent’s residence for look around the garden to learn the historic uses and some plant folklore. Email [email protected] for tour times.

All naturalist programs are free of charge. YPP (Young People for Parks) encourages youth of ages 6 – 16 to go outdoors and explore nature in our state parks.
