Let’s Sing the West Virginia Hills

June 20th is West Virginia’s 156th birthday. If you’re visiting Bluestone State Park today, plan to join the naturalist and park staff at 11:00 a.m. at the Park Office Flag Pole to celebrate West Virginia with the singing of “The West Virginia Hills,” the oldest of West Virginia’s four official state songs. Song sheets provided. If you can’t sing, hum, and if you can’t hum, smile.

Those singing and folks gathered receive a gift shop discount.

Bluestone State Park is one of many state parks and forests singing to celebrate the 35th state’s birthday. Happy Birthday West Virginia! Let’s sing the song!
