It’s Moth Night at North Bend
July 27, 2019 @ 1:01 am
Evening sleuthing for nocturnal winged insects is a nature-based investigation of moths of North Bend State Park. Guest biologist and naturalist Emily Grafton joins Park Naturalist Ken Zebo and staff on lodge deck beginning at 8:30 p.m.
A short introduction will be given on identifying common moths found at North Bend, followed by a survey of active moths on the back deck of the lodge. Bring your camera to photograph what you see and help provide data to moth researchers. We will meet in the Lodge Conference Room.
National Moth Week is the fourth week of July. Data, collected by attendees who become citizen scientists, help Grafton and Zebo record and provide findings to the national database. A great evening activity for any age and something visitors can do where they live to learn more about creatures of the night.
