2:00 p.m. ALL ABOUT BLACK BEARS
Feel a real bear claw and learn how smart Mother Bears are in rearing their young and leaving signs on trees to claim their habitat. Meet at the Old Pavilion.
4:00 p.m. BIRD MIGRATION
As you play this interactive game, you will learn the many perils birds must endure to survive their long annual trek. Meet at Windy Gap Schoolyard.

11:00 a.m. VERY FISHY
Learn the parts of a fish as you color them, then follow Naturalist Jane to the trout rearing pond to feed some young ones. Good students will earn a poster of WV Game Fish. Meet at the Old Pavilion.
2:00 p.m. CREEK CRITTERS
Meet in Windy Gap Schoolyard down by the creek and wear water shoes or old tennis shoes. We will examine the tiny macro-invertebrates that hide under rocks in the Laurel Fork.
4:00 p.m. HIKE
Hike SALT LICK TRAIL to see what’s blooming in early June. Meet Naturalist Jane on Holly River State Park office porch. Wear sturdy shoes. (approx. 1 hour)

NATIONAL TRAILS DAY
11:00 a.m. Join naturalist for a trek to an old Swiss Homestead on Tramontane Trail. Bring lunch & water, wear sturdy shoes. Trek poles /hiking stick helpful. Meet on office porch by 11:00 a.m. Hike departs at 11:00 a.m. and will return by 2:00 p.m. Hikers participating in this guided hike will receive a Trails Day Patch from the naturalist at the conclusion of the experience.
Holly River State Park is a special place to visit. Please join us for these programs and activities that are open to the public and free to attend.
