Thursday, June 18, 2020
3:00 p.m. – TURTLE TREK
Meet Naturalist Jane in Windy Gap Schoolyard to learn the perils of our Eastern Box Turtle in a self-guided game. Survival is tricky! (YPP)

4:00 p.m. – SNAKES!
See authentic replicas of our only 2 venomous snakes in West Virginia and learn to identify them. Learn how helpful other reptiles can be. Windy Gap Schoolyard (YPP)

11:00 a.m. – REVERIE TRAIL HIKE
Meet Naturalist Jane on the office porch. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water & lunch to eat at Tecumseh Falls. 2.5 miles/3 hrs. approx. Walking stick or trek poles helpful.

3:00 p.m. – GREAT MIGRATION CHALLENGE
Experience the many hazards migrating birds must face as we play an active game in Windy Gap Schoolyard. Will you make it to your summer home? (YPP)

SATURDAY, June 20, 2020
West Virginia Day
10:00 a.m. -WV HISTORY QUIZ
See how much you know about the mountain state. Learn some new & interesting facts about WV. Meet Naturalist Jane in Old Pavilion.

11:00 a.m. – WEST VIRGINIA SCAVENGER HUNT
This will require a phone or camera to take pictures of the many items you must find. (YPP)

12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – Concert of West Virginia Songs by WV Songwriters
Naturalist Jane plays guitar, autoharp & dulcimer and will perform songs for a 30-minute concert in the Old Pavilion.

All Naturalist Programs are FREE to everyone! YPP (Young People for Parks) encourages youth of ages 6 – 16 to go outdoors & explore nature in our state parks. Completion of 3 naturalist programs will earn a YPP certificate.
