Hayrides, Hot Dogs & Haunted Trail

Hayrides & Hot Dogs is from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and begin at Cacapon Resort State Park Lodge. Hayrides depart every hour starting at 11:00 a.m. with the last ride at 2:00 p.m. Reservation sheet will be at front desk of lodge or call 304-258-1022 to reserve a spot. There is no charge for hayrides. After your hayride, head to the Nature Center fire circle for hotdogs over the campfire, fee based: Hot Dog $2; Soda/Water $1.00, and Chips $1.00.

Other Saturday activities include:
9:30 a.m. Ridge Trail Ramble meets at the Nature Center for a hike along Warm Springs Ridge. Learn the story of the landscape while taking in the views and fall color change. (1 hour 15 minutes moderate hike)

Pumpkin Carving is at the Nature Center from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Come on out to simply enjoy carving a pumpkin or enter contest. Awards for most original, unique, & scariest given out at 2:00 p.m. Pumpkins are fee based from $2-$5.

Haunted Trail at Cacapon is from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Come out if you dare!!!
Park at the Nature Center for this spooky event. Guided tours will leave every 15 minutes and are fee based at $5 and includes glow sticks. At the finish, there are free marshmallows at the campfire. Hot chocolate & hot apple cider are available and the fee is $1. Please note: children 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Pumpkin Golf & Halloween Crafts & Snacks are happening from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Lots of fun at the Nature Center Pavilion for these free alternative activities for the younger youth. This activity is sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 40463. Wear costumes but bundle up in case the weather is chilly.
