Haunted Trail Trunk Treat
October 17, 2020 @ 1:01 am
It’s a new twist on Halloween fun at Blackwater Falls. A haunted trail tricks children up to 12 years of age to find Halloween treats along the way. Costume wearing is encouraged for all.
Join Blackwater Falls staff at Pendleton Point Picnic Shelter to start the haunted trail to candy treats. Begin the haunted trail at Pendleton Point Picnic Shelter and walk a short trail to Cabins 36-39, then walk along park roads visiting volunteers from the community to retrieve a tasty treat and return to your vehicle parked at Pendleton Point Overlook.
Due to safety for the children, this is a walking trail only to discover treats and maybe a friendly goblin. The activity is not a stop and go in vehicle. Please, bring a flashlight, a container/bag for candy and remember to wear a mask when social distancing isn’t possible. The volunteers enjoy this evening as much as children and will be wearing masks. We use this reminder: my mask protects you from me, and your mask protects me from you. When it’s Halloween, masks are a tradition.
The trail is easy walking and less than one mile. To volunteer as a “trunker,” contact Paulita Cousin at [email protected] or call 304-259-5511. This is a free event for children up to 12 years of age from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. while supplies last.
