Grrr! Bear Aware! A Special Program at Pipestem
Learn about the habits, habitats and sensory attributes of West Virginia’s state animal: the black bear. Most importantly of all, learn what you should do if you encounter a bear. “Grrrr! Bear Aware” is one of Pipestem’s Sundays @ 3p series presentations. Park naturalist Paulita Cousin will lead the presentation, which is both entertaining and educational. Cousin makes the “what to do” and the “why it works” of encountering bears memorable.
The program is free to attend and open to the public. Youth and adults welcome. Register for a door prize. Starts at 3 p.m. in the Pipestem Lodge.
Cousin works at Blackwater Falls State Park, and has more than 30 years of experience as an interpretative naturalist. She is an avid hiker and birdwatcher, and conducts nature interpretation programs and activities.
