Green Day Hike: Blackwater Falls State Park

Meet the naturalist in southside cabin area (1-26) across the road from the payphone near cabin 12 to enter a trail that passes through a lycopodium and moss covered forest floor with cathedral-like hardwood forest and expansive colonies of rhododendron and mountain laurel. We will loop back to our parked vehicles along the Rhododendron trail to earn the green day hiking sticker or patch for walking with a West Virginia State Park Naturalist on a scheduled Green Day Hike. Hike is about -1.5 miles. Expect the program to last 70-90 minutes.
