Gerald Milnes – Blennerhassett Lecture Series 4
Gerald Milnes is the fourth and final musician featured in the Blennerhassett Museum 2019 Winter Lecture Series, Sundays in February beginning at 2:00 p.m. A popular event, reservations are required.
Gerald Milnes was the 2013 Vandalia Award winner. He is a musician, a folklorist, author, filmmaker, teacher, and musician who has contributed immeasurably to the preservation and understanding of West Virginia traditional culture. Gerald has won multiple awards on both the fiddle and banjo, and performing with the group Gandydancer.
Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History in Parkersburg, West Virginia, is excited to bring four top award winners of the Vandalia Gathering Festival to tell their stories and play traditional Appalachian music. The Vandalia Gathering is a festival that takes place during Memorial Day Weekend in Charleston, WV, and brings together the finest traditional Appalachian musicians for a weekend of picking and competition.
