DESCRIPTION:It’s a rockin’ weekend at Cacapon Resort State Park. Geologist Ken Ashton welcomes ‘rockers’ to an evening program about the geology of West Virginia. You’ll discover more about rocks\, minerals and fossils in West Virginia and the area during the evening presentation held at Cacapon’s Nature Center at 7:00 p.m.\, Wednesday\, July 19\, 2023. The program is free to attend and open to the public. \nHave you ever asked ‘Is there gold in these WV hills?’ or “What is an earthquake?” This program is for you. Youth and adults alike may skip a stone on water\, but do you know the geology of the Mountain State ? Geology rocks! Join us. \nThis program is presented by geologists of the West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey and hosted by Cacapon Resort State Park staff and Valerie Chaney\, Park Naturalist.
