Full Snow Moon Hike at North Bend
February 27 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Humankind has had a long and interesting relationship with the full moon. It has cemented its place in folklore, acted as a signal for farmers and signified the changing of the seasons. There are 12 full moons each trip around the sun and the second of this year is known as the Full Snow Moon.
Spend the evening following the winding hills of the Old Farm Trail at North Bend State Park as we discuss lore, myth and other nighttime nature fun facts.
Meet Naturalist Adam Wissner at the Cokeley Boat launch at 6:15 p.m. This is a 1-mile, moderate graded hike that involves walking up some hills. Make sure to dress in warm layers and wear closed-toe shoes. Flashlights are recommended. The event is free and open to the public.
Masks will be worn when social distancing is not possible, or when we are gathered in groups. For any questions or concerns, call North Bend State Park at 304-643-2931.
