Activities at Bluestone State Park for Friday, August 19, 2022 includes great afternoon and evening programs including a campfire and sky watching. Naturalist Jonathan Lipscomb invites family and friends to participate in outdoor fun. Activities are open to the public and free to attend unless there is a small craft fee.

4:30PM — Spoon Carving and Regional History
Join Jonathan Lipscomb at the shelter behind the activities building to learn about the local history and some basic wood craft as I demonstrate how settlers would create
traditional dinnerware. *ypp

6PM — Primitive Fire Starting
Ever wonder about how to start a fire without a lighter or match? Come to the shelter behind the activities building to learn the basics of flint and steel fire starting as we light the weekly campfire. *ypp

7-9PM — Weekly Camp Fire
We will continue the evening at the shelter behind the activities building with a relaxing campfire. Come to relax, swap stories, watch the evening animals, or learn about the basics of campfire cooking. Dessert servings are $1 each

9-10PM — Introduction to Astronomy
We will finish the night in the field behind the activities building with an introduction to astronomy and telescopes. *ypp

*ypp are young people for parks programs. These programs are focused on fun education for ages 6-16. However, all ages are welcome to attend.

** All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
