Friday Activities at Watoga

Wildlife, leaves and an evening float are great Friday activities to attend at Watoga State Park. Join us:

1:00 p.m. Watoga Wildlife: Bears
Meet the park naturalist at the Nature Center, located beside the Activities Building near the Swimming Pool parking lot, and learn about the state mammal of West Virginia. Kids can also make a fun craft.

3:00 p.m. Leafing an Imprint
Making a leaf rubbing is a great way to be able to take something home from nature, without actually taking nature home with you. Meet us at the Nature Center, located near the Swimming Pool parking lot, and learn about the different trees we have in the area, and make some various leaf rubbings to capture your finds.

7:00 p.m. Float Your Boat
Enjoy the sunset with a peaceful and relaxing evening on the lake to learn about park history, wildlife, and anything else you would like to talk about. Your host is Chris Bartley, Park Naturalist. You can choose to take a paddleboat, kayak, or John boat out, or bring your own watercraft. Sign up and purchase a ticket in the main office for $5 per boat.
