First Day Hike at Blackwater Falls

The First Day Hike at Blackwater Falls will be on the Stemwinder Grade and begins at 10:00 a.m. It’s a happy new year to everyone that begins the year on the right foot.
This hike is led by Paulita Cousin, naturalist/interpreter. Hikers should meet at the parking areas of the old petting zoo/stables (trailhead of Davis Trail). The hike is approximately two miles in length with limited interpretive stops along the way.
Be prepared for wintry weather. Sturdy hiking boots are suggested. Carrying water is suggested. The loop begins at the stables and encounters three trails: the Davis, Stemwinder Grade and Red Spruce trails.
A commemorative First Day Hike patch is presented at the conclusion of the guided hike to each hiker.
