Firefly Evening & Hike

Nature’s miniature firework technicians – Fireflies! Why do lighting bugs flash? Are Lightning Bugs and Fireflies the same insect? As evening turns to darkness, firefly flashes are signals to each other and not all flashes mean the same thing. Fireflies are nature’s micro-lanterns. They are not flies, but are members of a particular family of the Beetle Order. The Firefly Family is technically known as the Lampyridae.

Meet Nature Interpreter Kailey Price at the Visitors Center in the Town of Cass at 7:00 p.m. A short walk is part of the evening outdoors activity. There is no charge and everyone is welcome to attend.
