Fire-A-Flyin’ Scout & Explorer Weekend

Twin Falls Resort State Park invites Girl Scouts and all youth and families to “Scout & Explorer Weekend.” Two special activities are planned.

On Friday, July 12, activities coordinator Deana Cook hosts a Firefly Evening at the ballfield. Learn about the INSECT, why they flash, and enjoy an evening outdoors at the park. Firefly Evening begins at the edge of dusk into dark. Bring a flashlight to use at the conclusion of the activity. This and other weekend activities will be posted as possible.

On Saturday, July 13, Wyoming County Historical Museum’s Civil War Days features live cannon fire at night. Fire will be a flyin’ this evening. Jim Cook and museum members will be on hand to talk about Civil War history in West Virginia as well as discussion about cannons and types of artillery used in battle. Night firing is planned. Please bring hearing protection. For more information about the cannon firing, email [email protected] Other Civil War activities will occur this same weekend. Information provided by WCHM will be posted as possible.
