There is nothing greater than discovering things in wintry outdoors. Have fun with Naturalist Valerie Chaney and attend these activities:

Friday- February 22
10:30 a.m. Interesting Insects — Meet at the Nature Center to learn all about bugs & insects. Let’s read “Bugs are Insects,” then play Bug Bingo and put together a giant puzzle of Backyard Bugs. (1 hour)

11:30 a.m. Eyewitness Insects — Meet at the Nature Center to view this film on insects. (30 minutes)

1:30 p.m. Scavenger Hunt — Meet at the Nature Center to get your list of items, then let the fun begin. (30 minutes)

3:00 p.m. Nature Walk — Meet at the Nature Center for a short stroll around Cacapon’s frozen lake. Let’s explore wildlife tracks around the area. (45 minutes)

The Nature Center and exhibits are open from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. There is no fee to participate in activities or to visit the nature center.

Saturday, February 23, 2019
10:00 a.m. Cabin Loop Trail — Meet the Naturalist at the Lodge to explore this easy trail, looking for wildlife tracks and wintering birds. (1 hour)

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. WV Winter Coats — Drop by the Nature Center during this time for a hands-on experience with wildlife pelts (bobcat, coyote, fox, & beaver).

3:00 p.m. Eyewitness DVD: Mammal — Meet at the Nature Center to watch a film on mammals. What incredible talent do dolphins and bats share? How can you tell the oldest elephant in a herd? (30 minutes)
