Chief Logan Lodge Starry Saturday Night

August 1, 2020 @ 1:01 am

Starry Saturday at Chief Logan Lodge uses a computerized telescope that can track celestial objects.

Come out for a night of sky-watching! Learn about constellations, planets, and other objects in space. Jupiter and Saturn will be above the horizon within half an hour of sunset and should be viewable with the telescope.

A chance of seeing comet NEOWISE.ISS is possible above the horizon from 8:34- 8:44 p.m. The moon should also be viewable.

Participants of all ages welcome. No fee to participate. Social distancing must be maintained. Mask wearing is preferred. Program can require patience that may be difficult for younger children. Rain will cancel this program because the evening/night sky will not be cooperative.

We will be set up from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. to look at celestial bodies in the night sky. Meet at Chief Logan Lodge fire pit. We’ll look at the moon, planets, galaxies, and more. Learn seasonal constellations of the summer and other cool facts about the night sky.
