Celebrate Earth Day

April 24

Celebrate Earth Day at 11:00 a.m. and take a closer look at trees and/or participate in Tree Ring Art at Blackwater Falls Nature Center. Join park naturalist Paulita Cousin to explore ways to identify trees followed by the creation of art using a tree cookie.

The tree cookie activity is not recommended for children by themselves under the age of 10 due to working with flame. This activity is limited to 12 people. Non-refundable registration fee is $5.00 by contacting the park naturalist Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

At 2:00 p.m., a program of Caution- Trees at Work! Walk is hosted by the naturalist. Why are trees so terrific? Discover some answers along this easy walk through an upland forest. Meet the park naturalist in the picnic area near cabin 27-31 cul-de-sac. About 1 mile, 70 minutes.
