Car Show and More at North Bend

Fun outside and at the nature center continues at North Bend State Park. Take advantage of these Sunday activities hosted by Naturalist Maddie Shaffer for families, friends or individuals.

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Nature Center Open
Come inside to enjoy a chance to meet some of our wildlife friends. Take a look around and marvel at the mysteries of nature.

12:00 p.m.
Venom and Poison
Leaves of three, let it be. This is a great way to remember not to touch poison ivy, but what about all those other poisonous plants and venomous animals you may encounter while in the forests of North Bend? Learn all about what to avoid in the woods and how to identify those species that might make you sick or uncomfortable. This program is designed to educate and not intimidate, so there is nothing to be afraid of. We will meet in the Nature Center. (1 hour) YPP

2:00 p.m.
Spirit Animal Masks
Some Native American cultures believe that everyone has a spirit animal that guides their life and shares similar characteristics with them. Find out your own spirit animal and become one with it as you make a wearable mask in this fun craft. We will meet at the Nature Center. (1 hour)

4:00 p.m.
All About Trees
Explore the common trees of North Bend and learn how to identify them and the important role they serve in the ecosystem. We will focus on trees along the Extra Mile Trail and a portion of the Access Trail, with both trails being flat and easy to walk on. This short loop is suitable for all skill levels. We will meet at the Nature Center. (1 hour) YPP
