Buddy Griffin – Blennerhassett Lecture Series 2
Buddy Griffin is the second of four individuals featured in the Blennerhassett Museum 2019 Winter Lecture Series, Sundays in February beginning at 2:00 p.m. A popular event, reservations are required.
Buddy Griffin the 2011 Vandalia Award winner and a master musician on several instruments. He began performing at an early age, excelling at banjo, fiddle, guitar and mandolin. He was instrumental in developing a college level bluegrass music program in West Virginia at Glenville, is a mentor to numerous bluegrass musicians, and is a frequent player on the Grand Ole Opry.
Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History in Parkersburg, West Virginia, is excited to bring four top Award winners of the Vandalia Gathering Festival to tell their stories and play traditional Appalachian music. The Vandalia Gathering is a festival that takes place during Memorial Day Weekend in Charleston, WV, and brings together the finest traditional Appalachian musicians for a weekend of picking and competition.
