The CCC boys left a legacy that can still be enjoyed all over WV in the forests they planted and parks they helped to build. Meet the Naturalist at the Nature Center to watch a movie about this WV legacy. (30 minutes)
1:30 p.m. Spirit of Cacapon
Meet at the Nature Center to take a short walk and discover how the CCC boys, the Civilian Conservation Corps, left its mark on Cacapon.

Learn how to provide natural landscaping with native plants and their benefits. Take a closer look at the wildflower meadow at the nature center planted by a local native plant group, The Blue Ridge Wild Ones.
1:30 p.m. Non-native Invasive Plants
Learn about how the park is taking on a variety of invasive plants: Oriental Bittersweet, Japanese Barberry and take a short hike to identify and see some of the park’s projects.

Join park volunteer and WV Master Naturalist for at the Nature Center for an evening hike. Wrap up your day with a walk close to sunset to take in the views and twilight sounds of Cacapon, while learning about new and exciting park updates.

10:00 a.m. Birding Hike
Join park volunteers and West Virginia Master Naturalist Tim Hull for a hike. Meet at the Nature Center, then caravan to the Batt parking area to access portions of the Central Trail. Under two miles.
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Berkeley Springs State Park History Hour
Stop by and talk with the park naturalist any time during this hour by the town’s famous warm springs–Berkeley Springs State Park. Learn some fun facts & see a variety of older photographs of the town and springs over the years.
Interpretive programs and activities are free to attend and open to the public. Covid guidelines are recognized to insure the health and welfare of visitors and park staff.
