Bees & Geology & More Activities

August 16, 2018 @ 9:01 pm

Great Friday activities to attend at Watoga State Park. Join us:

1:00 p.m. What’s the Buzz?
Bees do more than make delicious honey for us to enjoy, they help keep us alive! Join us at the Nature Center, located beside the Activities Building near the Swimming Pool parking lot, and learn about these pollinators and why they are so vital for humans. (YPP)

3:00 p.m. A Walk in Watoga
Walking is a great way to get exercise, relieve stress, and make new acquaintances. Meet us by the picnic shelter to go on a short hike and take in some of the beauty Watoga has to offer. Please wear closed toe shoes, and bring water. (YPP)

7:30 p.m. Geology ROCKS
Enjoy an evening of geology in the Activities Building, located near the Swimming Pool parking lot, by one of the best in the area. Meet special guest Ken Ashton, a Geologist with the West Virginia Geological Survey for over 30 years, as he guides us through the Geology of the Mountain State. This will be a chance to see rock types, learn where mountains come from, and much more! (YPP)
