The Augusta County Militia explores the life and times of early Appalachian pioneer Joseph Doddridge. Demonstrations of several crafts based on Doddridge’s writings, as well as conducting militia operations are part of the two-day event. A militia muster, inspection, and the dispatching of scouts and spies will be discussed and demonstrated throughout the weekend.
