Art on the Island: Walnut Grove

The Parkersburg Art Center is hosting painting parties at Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park! Participants will take the 1:00 p.m. sternwheeler to Blennerhassett Island from Point Park. Jessie Siefert will meet you at the dock.

This is the first of four painting parties scheduled. You will be working with acrylics on canvas to create an artful rendering of the island’s walnut grove. No experience is necessary. Light snacks will be provided. After your painting party, you are welcome to stay and play on the island for the rest of the afternoon!

Register by July 6. All ages are welcome, but children 12 and under should come with an adult. The cost is $40 per attendee and includes all art materials, snacks and transportation. There is no Art Center member rate for this class. To learn more and to register, visit http://www.parkersburgartcenter.org/adult-and-teen-classes or call 304-485-3859.

The Art Center is supported with financial assistance from the WV Division of Culture and History and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the WV Commission on the Arts. The Art Center is also supported by memberships and many generous contributors. The Art Center is a nonprofit, non-government organization.
