The Nature Center is open from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Programs begin at the nature center unless indicated.

Finding Your Way
Join the park naturalist, Paulita, for an introduction to topography map and compass. Program includes a short film followed by the creation of a compass. About 1 hour. Craft fee: $2.00. YPP
2:00 p.m.
Vultures and “Vomit”
What’s not to love about vultures. The park naturalist shares information and tales about our local vultures. Then we create a bag of slime to take home. Free craft. About 45 minutes. YPP

Roving Naturalist goes to Canaan Valley
Join the park naturalist’s: Paulita and Madelene, at the trailhead of Blackwater River Trail in Canaan Valley Resort State Park (golf course) for this walk along the beginnings of Blackwater River. About 1 mile., 90 minutes. YPP
3:00 p.m. Disappearing Stars
Join the park naturalist, Paulita, to learn why our stars are fading away, the impact this loss has on wildlife and humans and ways you can save the stars. About 45 minutes. YPP
