A Moth Meet at Tygart Lake
It’s a “Moth Meet” on a Friday night at the field between the cabin and campground area at Tygart Lake State Park. It’s a dark area of the park and the special light used may attract moths that make Tygart Lake State Park their habitat. Join naturalist Jacob Jackson and staff by 9:00 p.m. to watch for and meet Moths of Tygart Lake.
Bring your camera to photograph what you see and help provide data to moth researchers.
National Moth Week is the fourth week of July. Data, collected by attendees which become citizen scientists, help Jacob, Emory and Amber record and provide findings to the national database. A great evening activity for any age and something visitors can do where they live to learn more about creatures of the night.
