38th Annual Sue Browning Wildflower Hike

April 3, 2021

Welcome in spring at the 38th Annual Sue Browning Wildflower Hike! The first hike begins at 9 a.m. and departs from Chief Logan Museum/Gift Shop. This is the traditional spring hike along the park’s 3-mile long Woodpecker Trail.

The second hike at 1:00 p.m. is on the Shawnee Trail/Fitness Trail and is about 1-½ mile walk. There are plenty of blooms to observe and the walk is easy.

Both hikes depart from the park office/museum. Those participating in the hike/walk will receive a pass for a special guided tour of the wildlife exhibit with Naturalist Lauren Cole.

Free to attend and open to the public, these are good programs for folks in garden clubs, hiking groups, master naturalists, or generally curious folks. Families looking for an outdoor activity to learn more about flora and fauna with youth are encouraged to participate.

For overnight lodge reservations or to inquire about restaurant specials, call 304-855-6100. For interpretive activities and programs like these, email lauren.e.cole@wv.gov.
