Join Chef Matt Welsch, the Executive Chef for West Virginia State Parks, as well as the highly talented culinary teams of our beautiful state parks, while they curate unforgettable and unique dinners by integrating locally sourced items found in Appalachian pantries into culinary masterpieces.
Chief Logan State Park will host this dinner event in the Whispering Ridge Restaurant at Chief Logan Lodge. The price is $50 per person, inclusive of all taxes and gratuities. The first course will feature the “ultimate winter salad” of kale, spinach, cabbage, carrots, apples, and roasted butternut squash. Tossed in a West Virginia-sourced maple syrup dijon vinaigrette, and sprinkled with candied pecans. The second course includes Great Northern White Bean Hamburger Soup, made with fresh West Virginia hamburger and a locally crafted tomato basil sauce. For the main course, enjoy braised rabbit with onion gravy, a secret recipe elk and beef meatloaf, herb-mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, West Virginia snap beans, and buttermilk biscuits. Delicious desserts include house-made bread pudding and blackberry dumplings. Tickets are limited, and reservations are required.
