Presentation on the 1950 Flood at North Bend
Learn more about “The Night Hell Rained on Almost Heaven,” and the how the June 24, 1950 flood devastated eight counties in West Virginia. Patricia Harris, President of the Doddridge County Historical Society, and David Scott, President of the Ritchie County Historical Society, will host a photography presentation about the flood. Braxton, Doddridge, Gilmer, Lewis, Ritchie, Tyler, Upshur and Wetzel counties are featured in the presentation, which starts at 2 p.m. at North Bend State Park Lodge. The event is free and open to the public.
