Volunteer Campground Host – Beech Fork State Park

Duties:

Greet, welcome, answer questions, and orient campers to the facilities and local area. Understand and be able to explain general rules and regulations to camper; do not enforce them. Set an example for other campers by keeping campground host site neat and clean. Help staff with day-to-day operations of campground. Assist with campground maintenance, pick up litter, light janitorial duties, maintenance, bathhouse cleaning, and replenishing of rest room supplies. Assist with check-in of campers. Contact appropriate staff and/or law enforcement personnel regarding emergencies.

Schedule:

The volunteer is expected to work a minimum of 25 hours a week, five to eight hours a day including weekends and holidays. These hours will be set by the host and the superintendent. Volunteer Campground Hosts are generally on call throughout the day and evening.

The minimum assignment length is one month, and the maximum
length is one season. (Due to training time, we believe it best to
keep volunteers as long as possible.)
